VMware Workstation Player for Mac is called VMware Fusion. The original VMware Workstation Player does not support Mac OS but VMware Inc. offers a virtual machine for Mac Users called VMware Fusion. VMware Fusion allows Mac users run Windows, Linux and other operating systems on their computers seamlessly without needing to reboot.
VMware Workstation Player, known until recently as VMware Player, is free for personal use, and caters to those looking to run virtual machines on their Windows or Linux systems–frequently used.
- Create Virtual Machine. In VMware Player, create a new virtual machine with the settings below: Guest OS: Apple Mac OS X; Version: Mac OS X 10.11 or 10.12; Name and select a location for your Virtual Machine Disk: Edit Your Virtual Machine. Click “Edit Virtual Machine Setting“, select “Hard Disk (SATA) 40 GB” then click “Remove”.
- VMware Workstation Player (Windows, Linux) VMware is one of the markets leading developers of virtual machines. Their trademark hypervisors include VMware Fusion (macOS) and Vmware Workstation (PC). Both applications have the same features and ease of use, but each of their configurations is tailor-cut to the respective operating systems.
- There is no version of VMware Player for OS X. Instead, VMware sells a Mac version of their product called VMware Fusion. You may use it as trial version 30 days for free. If you don't want to purchase VMware Fusion, you can: Use Boot Camp to some other OS. The OS itself should run fine. Use Boot Camp and run vmplayer from the other OS.

VMware Fusion is easy to use and is available for free trial for 30 days after which users have to pay to continue using the software.

All Macs manufactured from 2011 are supported except the 2012 Mac Pro Quad Core using Intel Xeon W3565 processor.
